Overnight Fly Fishing Excursion to Beautiful Paw Paw, WV
The only rule is to relax, step back and learn the intricacies of fly fishing at your own pace. Your host, SDC Board Member and renowned local fly fisherman Doug Alexander, will provide a one night stay for two and will cook and serve lunch, dinner, and breakfast at his cabin on 13 acres of quiet seclusion on the Little Cacapon River. Doug will provide the rods, reels and necessary equipment, with the exception of wading shoes or boots, and he will help you tie the flies that you will use that day, and that you can keep as a souvenir. Doug will take you from the cabin and guide you as you fish either the Potomac for Smallmouth or fish one of the Potomac feeder streams for Trout - the choice of water will depend on time of year and water levels. The winning bidder should be in good health, able to walk at least one mile during the course of a day, provide their own wading shoes or boots and fishing license, and be willing to sign a waiver indemnification agreement. Depending on his guest's ability, Doug can help with casting skills and fishing techniques. After a day of fishing, you can return to the cabin and enjoy the golf chipping course, croquet, or hike the property. Unwind at the end of the day with an after-dinner port and cigar.
